Early Head Start serves children from birth to age 3 and pregnant women with year-round services. The Early Head Start hours are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Early Head Start is committed to providing infants and toddlers with enrichment in their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development while supporting parents to care for and teach their growing children to be self-sufficient in many ways. We achieve this through our comprehensive care and services designed for families and our highly qualified staff who deliver this support in a caring and knowledgeable way.
During their enrollment in Early Head Start, children are formally assessed 4 times per program year in all developmental areas. Ongoing assessment is completed for each child, and activities planned that will meet their individual goals. The results of these screenings and assessments are shared with and explained to parents on home visits and in parent conferences. Assessment data is analyzed each period to determine what areas need program improvement.
