Getting Children and Families Ready for School

VPK (Voluntary Pre-K) is for children age 4 entering kindergarten. The Head Start/VPK day is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the VPK program is available at most of our Head Start centers.

Students need a strong learning foundation to be successful in school. Research has shown that a child’s brain experiences the most growth and development by the time they reach 5 years old, making it clear that the higher quality of learning they do by that age, the better they will be set up for school.

Our VPK program offers a strong academic beginning for children and is free for all 4-year-old children in Florida regardless of their family’s income. VPK uses strategic educational plans and targeted materials to reach your child’s development stages and help them start school.

SV4Cs is proud to offer this service to eligible families through activities, learning experiences, and high curricula standards to fulfill every child’s developmental needs.
